Neuro RehabCare services
Our physical therapist evaluates and treats our client’s ability to move their body and improve physical function by focusing on regaining muscle strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination. The goal of physical therapy is to increase independent ability with physical tasks as well as educate individuals and their family
Our occupational therapist use functional activities to prevent, reduce, or overcome physical and emotional challenges to meaningful daily living. Our occupational therapist assist with a number of skills, including:
- Eating and swallowing
- Grooming, bathing, and dressing
- Using the toilet
- Getting in and out of beds, chairs, and bathtubs
- Thinking skills
- Vision training (restoration of normal vision)
- Sensory training (restoration of normal sensation)
- Driving skills
- Home management skills (shopping, cooking, money management)
- Fine motor skills, such as buttoning a shirt
- Wheelchair positioning and mobility
- Medical equipment training
- The occupational therapist may also use splints and casts to reduce muscle spasticity or contracture and to optimize muscle functioning.
Complex negative behaviors often result after Acquired Brain Injury and interfere with an individual’s rehabilitation progress. Our program specializes in addressing complex behavioral challenges by integrating Neuropsychology to analyze behaviors and develop behavior strategies, a comprehensive team of Certified Brain Injury Specialists to implement these strategies along with medication management in a positive, healthy environment can produce life changing outcomes for clients and their families.
Our vocational counselor assists our clients able to participate in return to work by assessing their strengths and weaknesses and selecting jobs or careers that maximize their potential to become more involved in their community and allow them to contribute to society, make money, increase independence, and regain self-confidence and support from others. Our vocational counselor works as a member of the rehabilitation team to formulate a plan designed to achieve vocational goals. Our speech-language pathologist identify, evaluate, and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders often experienced after neurological injury. Communication difficulties may include such things as understanding what is heard, being able to speak clearly, thinking of the words to express ideas, and problems with reading and writing. Speech therapy also treats cognitive deficits such as attention, thinking skills, memory, executive functions, and social interactions with others. Training in the use of assistive technology for communication and cognitive impairments may be provided.
As part of the client’s treatment plan aquatic therapy may be utilized if deemed appropriate.
An aquatic therapist is an occupational therapist, physical therapist, or recreational therapist with specialized training to provide therapy in a heated water pool. Aquatic therapy is used to increase strength, coordination, ambulation skills, endurance, muscle movement, and to reduce pain.

We offer A licensed counselor focused on helping individuals cope with grief, pain, and difficult life decisions by focusing on the individuals spiritual growth and sometimes religion. Spiritual counselors help people from all walks of life meet their spiritual, emotional, and relational goals. While spiritual counseling can take many forms, as a discipline it is rooted in the belief that the spirit is connected to the mind, body, and emotions.
Neuro Muscular Massage
NRC utilizes a licensed massage practitioner may use massage therapy to reduce symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and nausea. Also relieve stress, muscle tension, muscle pain, stiffness, joint aches and pain and increase circulation. We provide activities such as Horticultural Therapy to assist participants to learn new skills or regain those that are lost. Horticultural therapy helps improve memory, cognitive abilities, task initiation, language skills, and socialization. In physical rehabilitation, horticultural therapy can help strengthen muscles and improve coordination, balance, and endurance. In vocational horticultural therapy settings, people learn to work independently, problem solve, and follow directions. Horticultural therapists are professionals with specific education, training, and credentials in the use of horticultural for therapy and rehabilitation
At NRC, art therapy is utilized as the therapeutic use of art making, within a professional relationship, by people who experience neurological illness, trauma or challenges in living. Through creating art and reflecting on the art products and processes, our clients can increase awareness of self and others, cope with symptoms, stress and traumatic experiences; enhance cognitive abilities; and enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of making art.
NRC uses Equine therapy, provided by professionals in Hippotherapy as a tool in the purposeful manipulation of equine movement to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to achieve functional outcomes. In conjunction with the equine environment and other treatment strategies, hippotherapy is part of a patient’s integrated plan of care.
At NRC, we utilize professionals to develop and plan meal and to incorporate Cooking Therapy for our clients. basic. In addition to learning a valuable life skill, culinary therapy offers the following benefits:

Our animal-assisted therapy program uses dogs or other animals to help people recover from or better cope with the physical and psychological stress of neurological injuries
Modified Yoga & Meditation
Our certified Yoga instructors tailor each session to meet the needs of our clients and their health conditions. Other than strengthening muscles, improving balance and flexibility and naturally realigning the spine, modified yoga offers a chance to reconnect with the mind, body and soul in a positive way. By using sequence of movement in a set order of step-by-step progression, learning and remembering these movements becomes a form of cognitive therapy. The powerful health and healing benefits of this practice change our minds and bodies for the better.
NRC believes the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual, for the purpose of improving health and well-being.
NRC offers individuals Recreational Therapy on a personal level so that they have a more fulfilling rehab process. A number of factors are considered from current abilities, to previous hobbies and to cultural needs. This helps establish realistic goals for the patient to work toward and the end goal is to help them function on a higher level following an injury or due to an illness. The idea is to improve an individual’s overall physical and mental well-being through a variety of activities.
